Jerry Friesen has been the head coach of the University of Alberta Golden Bears team. One Thursday morning after the workout, he called the team for the usual talk and announced his intention of quitting the work he was doing. The assistant coach of the team, Jeff Stead agreed that the announcement was a surprise. They also admitted that Jerry was a great coach and they would miss him in the team. `He is a great person,’ Jeff described the leaving coach.
Jeff was also fast to add that he has learnt a lot from Jerry. `He has been good to me since I moved to this team. I have learnt both the basics and tips to run a football team professionally.’
Stead was left just sitting in the room alone. The desk of the head coach was gone. It was such a surprise since the coach just called for the usual meeting and read a paper with hid farewell statement. He was so emotional such that he had to read the statement from a paper to deliver the exact message.
For the 10 years Jerry has been a coach of the Bears, he has helped the team compile stunning records of football. He had helped to restore the fame of the team after with remarkable victories.
